I was approached by one of you're brothers that is a friend of mine he
Ask me if I might want to join the chapter in Waynesboro VA
I once was in another club not so much like yours.if you know
What I mean no disrespect to any club that club just wasn't
For me at the time ,I saw a brotherhood not so brotherly
This is the reason I resigned from that club ,that is all
I'm really concerned I do have a big twin Harley Springer
Just wondering if I can have conversation with member
That has been around for a while and see if this might be
Something I would enjoy ,I am a firm supporter of the US MILITARY
And law enforcement, I might be interested if I could just have a combo
With a long standing member thank you ,
Also I wish to think all you're members for there sacrifices and service
To this country GOD BLESS YOU ALL

Another peaceful Memorial Day except for the loud motorcycles. Before you ride, please check your mufflers and always observe the noise regulations. You should never exceed 55 decibels above ambient noise. Happy Memorial Day and Thank You.

Per your own post the noise limit is 55 decibels ABOVE AMBIENT NOISE LEVELS. Therefore you must first recognize what “Ambient Noise Level” is. On average in a Metro are like Arlington or D.C. metro ambient noise level is approximately 60-70 decibels. Therefore 55 above that would then translate to 115-125 decibels. With a stock Harley Exhaust being 80 decibels on average even a modified exhaust would be under the 115 decibels you say are the limit.
So while I appreciate your circumstance and your suffering we do remain within the limits.
I recommend that you consider downloading an app that displays the decibels using your phones microphone. There are several free apps. This way you can record ambient noise levels at different times of the day, and it will be handy next year to check our levels as we process out.

Thanks for your reply. This is what Harley=Davidson says:
"Straight off the line today, Harley exhaust systems can emit noise as high as 80 decibels (dBs), give or take depending on the model." That's 25 decibels above the limit of 55 decibles. If you remember your High School math, decibels are calculated with a logarithmic function. So 25 decibels equates to over 17 times the allowed limit on a linear scale. Are you sure your sound meter is calibrated correctly? Thanks for having this discussion and thank you for your service to our great nation. Pete

So when they read 55 decibels it was actually 56 decibels. We have rectified this problem and we will no longer be ruining anyone’s weekends. We apologize profusely.

I have had the priviledge to interact with the Nam Knights for a number of years through affiliation of the Old Dominion Chapter of NKMC. I am pleased to say that every interaction I have ever had with any member of the organization has always been met with the utmost respect and welcoming arms as your members have treated myself and everyone else with absolute amazing support as well as an outstanding and unwaivering outpouring of support to our men and women in uniform. Be it Military, Law Enforcement, First responder or Riders of other clubs. I have always been welcomed with open embrace as if I was one of your own. I am proud to know each and every member of your group as friends and know that if ever I needed something I could count on them to answer the call as I hope that each of you know that if ever in need of assistance they understood I would gladly offer any support I could offer to the group as well. Was driving in West Edmonton Alberta Canada yesterday and I had a biker in front of me with a nam knights patch on. I haven’t heard of that club before so I googled it and started reading up on it and what you guys do. Seems like a well run club with a strong brotherhood! Anyway, all the best boys ??

I attended The Red Ribbon Ceremony yesterday in Orange County NY. Hosted by ADAC (Alcohol and Drug Awareness Council) Several members of the Nam Knights were present, representing your organization and being a top supporter. It was a nice ceremony and wonderful to see your members there. It made me want to know more about your organization. I have always held a higher regard and level of respect for all of our Military soldiers/officers and Police personnel. I've enjoyed learning about your organization and mission, it is with great gratitude and respect, I tip my hat to you all.
I hope our paths will cross again. :)

Loss of a Brother

It is with great sadness that I report the loss of our Brother Dave "GPS" Sannes. Dave passed last Thursday after 3 weeks in ICU due to a MC crash while out for one of his daily rides. He collided with a UPS truck. Our Chapter is heading to Richmond VA next Wednesday to escort him home for the funeral service. Services will be the 18th of March at 1500 in Rocky Mount, NC.
