Davids day is a fund raiser for childrens cancer,David Porter is my
friends nephew who passed away at age 4 we have been attending the event
for a few years a few members,I myself would appreciate if we could have a nice
turnout its in our backyard Clifton we could leave clubhouse 1230pm.
What is the meaning of David's Day? Our Son David Nicholas Porter had many requests at the very young age of four. He asked us "When can I have a David's Day like Mommy and Daddy's Day". All he wanted was a day that was full of fun, contentment, and family. David asked for a Bob the Builder cake, hot dogs, a pin˜ata filled with goodies, lots of games and everything had to be GREEN! A simple request, unfortunately not if you have been diagnosed with cancer.
On July 8th, 2006 our family, the Porter Clan held the 1st David's Day. David for the first time in months had something to look forward to, he was very excited and to see his smiling face was long over due, a dream come true, and a day of joy. We knew in our hearts that this event would need to be a yearly celebration to honor the strength and courage our baby boy endured throughout his illness. Our family and especially David deserved a day that made him feel like a normal four year old, a day with no doctors, hospitals, needles, just a day for David to feel free, free from cancer.
